Michael Howland
Principal
Michael is enthusiastic about the natural world and enjoys studying and working with landscape design concepts and materials. This passion for the trade continues to drive his career in the green industry. He draws from a foundation of skills learned both in the field and from formal education. He completed his B.S and AAS in Environmental Horticulture with a concentration in landscape design from the University of Maine and Southern Maine Community College respectively. Michael honed his customer relationship and team management skills while working as an estate garden manager in Portland, Maine. He acquired knowledge in excavation work while working with a civil engineering company in San Francisco, California. Mid-coast Maine is home where he tends to family, business and having fun! A few of his hobbies include birding, cross x skiing, and woodworking.
Hannah Ward Howland
Office manager
Hannah shares a similar passion for the green industry. She manages the office duties for Spring River Horticulture. Hannah completed her B.S and AAS in Environmental Horticulture with a concentration in Landscape Design at the University of Maine, Orono and Southern Maine community college respectively. Her roots originate from the Berkshires, Massachusetts. Hannah is a third generation Horticulturist and knows her plants! A few of her hobbies include, quilting, cross word puzzles and hiking.
